Terms of Business and Legal Notices
1. Introduction
These Terms of Business (“Terms”) govern all transactions, contracts, and engagements between Hobson Global Logistics Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) and our clients (“you”, “the Client”) for the rental, leasing, or use of vehicles, including HGVs, trucks, and other heavy commercial vehicles, as well as related logistics services. By booking, using, or otherwise engaging our services, the Client accepts and agrees to be bound by these Terms in full.
2. Services and Scope
2.1 Vehicle Hire and Leasing
Hobson Global Logistics Ltd provides short-term, long-term, and contract-based vehicle hire and fleet leasing solutions. Vehicles supplied remain the property of Hobson Global Logistics Ltd unless otherwise specified in writing.
2.2 Additional Services
We may provide logistical support, route planning, fleet management advice, and maintenance coordination. These services are ancillary to vehicle hire unless explicitly agreed in writing.
2.3 Limitations
We do not provide drivers unless explicitly agreed, and we do not accept liability for operational misuse of vehicles by the Client or third parties.
3. Quotations, Pricing, and Payment
3.1 Quotes and Estimates
All quotations provided are indicative and based on the information supplied by the Client. Quotes are valid for a period of 30 days unless otherwise stated.
3.2 Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due in full prior to vehicle collection or delivery. For long-term leasing contracts, periodic invoicing may be agreed. Non-payment or late payment may result in suspension or termination of services and may incur interest and collection costs.
3.3 Taxes and Fees
All charges exclude VAT and applicable duties unless explicitly stated. The Client is responsible for any additional fees, tolls, fines, or levies incurred during vehicle use.
4. Vehicle Use and Responsibility
4.1 Safe Operation
The Client agrees to operate vehicles in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, legal requirements, and industry best practice.
4.2 Insurance and Liability
The Client must maintain appropriate insurance for all vehicles in use, including third-party liability, comprehensive coverage, and any other regulatory requirements. Hobson Global Logistics Ltd will verify insurance compliance prior to vehicle handover.
4.3 Maintenance and Inspection
Vehicles are delivered in good operational condition. The Client must inspect vehicles upon receipt and report any damage immediately. Routine maintenance during the hire period remains the responsibility of the Client unless otherwise agreed.
4.4 Prohibited Uses
Vehicles must not be used for illegal activities, off-road use unless agreed, or operated by unlicensed or unqualified personnel. Breach may result in termination and liability for damages.
5. Warranties and Disclaimers
Hobson Global Logistics Ltd warrants that vehicles are supplied in safe and roadworthy condition. No other warranties are provided, and we disclaim liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from vehicle use.
6. Termination and Cancellation
6.1 Termination by Client
Bookings may be cancelled with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for short-term hires. Long-term leasing agreements require written notice per contract terms.
6.2 Termination by Hobson Global Logistics Ltd
We reserve the right to terminate agreements immediately in the event of non-payment, misuse, illegal activity, or breach of these Terms.
7. Indemnity
The Client agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hobson Global Logistics Ltd against all claims, damages, costs, and expenses arising from misuse, negligence, or breach of these Terms by the Client or third parties using the vehicles.
8. Data Protection
Client information is collected and processed solely for the purpose of delivering our services. Hobson Global Logistics Ltd complies with UK GDPR and ensures all personal and business data is stored securely and not shared with unauthorised third parties.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed under the laws of England and Wales, with the English courts having exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes.
10. Amendments
Hobson Global Logistics Ltd may update these Terms at any time. Clients will be notified of material changes, and continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
